About Mold Eliminators

I have been doing this work since 1996. I helped write the standard every restoration company in Nevada is required to follow. This is what that means for you.

About Craig Herrmann & Mold Eliminators

Who I Am and How I Work

My name is Craig Herrmann. I started Mold Eliminators in Las Vegas in 1996, when the valley was in the middle of one of the fastest growth periods any American city had ever seen. I watched neighborhoods go up in Summerlin, Henderson, and North Las Vegas faster than the infrastructure could keep pace, and I learned, job by job, what that construction would look like 25 years later when pipes aged and swamp coolers started leaking into walls nobody could see inside of.

I am one of three IICRC Master Certified Flood Experts in all of Southern Nevada, and I have served on the IICRC Board of Directors since October 2015. That credential requires a level of testing, field experience, and documentation that most restoration companies never pursue. I pursued it because I wanted to operate at the level the work requires, not the level that is easiest to market.

I Helped Write the Standard You Should Require

I served on the ANSI/IICRC S520 Consensus Body for more than six years, participating in weekly collaborative meetings with restoration professionals from around the world. We evaluated new research on mold species, studied aerosolization patterns during cleaning, assessed emerging technologies, and considered health impacts on immunocompromised occupants. Every change was debated. New products were not approved just because they were new. The 4th Edition was published in 2024 and every restoration company operating in Nevada is legally required to follow it.

What I brought to those meetings was Las Vegas field experience that professionals in other markets did not have. High-rise condos present different challenges than single-family homes. Desert climate construction behaves differently than humid regions. Monsoon flooding creates contamination patterns that are unfamiliar to most restoration professionals. Before the S520 existed, companies sprayed products on mold and called it remediation. Others removed far more material than necessary. Some contractors wore full hazmat suits for minor bathroom mold to scare homeowners; others handled serious contamination without basic respiratory protection. The S520 ended that. I was part of the group that ended it.

Every Person on Your Job Works for Me

I do not subcontract. You can read more about why we never subcontract and what that means for your job. I have not subcontracted a single job in 30 years, and I am not going to start. Every technician on my team is a direct Mold Eliminators employee who has completed an OSHA-required medical evaluation, holds active IICRC certifications in their specialty area, and is covered by our workers' compensation policy. When I send someone to your home, I know exactly who that is and I am accountable for their work.

We use independent, accredited third-party laboratories for all mold testing and post-remediation verification. I have no financial incentive to find a mold problem that does not exist, and I have no interest in signing off on a remediation job when the lab report does not confirm it is complete. A couple of our Yelp reviews mention that I assessed a situation and told the homeowner they did not need our services. I consider that the best possible description of how we operate.

Thirty Years of Las Vegas Jobs

I have worked in the old ranch homes along Rancho Drive, in high-rise condos near the Strip where condensate lines overflow into wall cavities nobody ever inspects, in Henderson townhomes where swamp coolers have been running for 25 years without a drain line check, and in commercial kitchens near the Convention Center where a failing fitting inside a wall turned into three weeks of hidden moisture damage before anyone called me. I have done remediation on properties in The Lakes where irrigation runoff had been wicking into walls for seasons, in Spring Valley homes where landscaping installed too close to the slab directed water inward, and in North Las Vegas flash flood zones where I arrived within an hour of a monsoon event and found four inches of water moving through a garage.

Every job in this city is shaped by the climate, the construction era, and the specific way Las Vegas grows and ages. I know the patterns because I have been watching them accumulate since 1996.

We hold 16 active IICRC certifications across water damage restoration, mold remediation, structural drying, and fire and smoke restoration. We are members of IICRC and NewVistaNV.org. We serve the entire Las Vegas Valley in English and Spanish and accept ACH, American Express, Cash, Check, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.

Call me at (702) 442-1126. I will tell you honestly what I find and what it requires. See our full list of frequently asked questions or browse our mold remediation process guide.

Not all of that work has been residential. Commercial property managers, retail locations, and office buildings throughout the Las Vegas Valley have called Mold Eliminators when they needed remediation done correctly, documented to carrier standards, and completed without disrupting operations longer than necessary. The protocols I apply to a residential job are the same ones I bring to a commercial site.
