Above it, and especially above it for long stretches, you give those spores the one thing they were missing: water. Why humidity, not just leaks, controls mold

It needs moisture, and humidity is moisture in a form you cannot see. When the relative humidity of the air stays high, water vapor settles onto cool surfaces: the back of a closet wall, the framing inside a north-facing cavity, the grout behind a shower, the underside of a window sill.
